Trinidad is located outside the hurricane zone so it is considered a safe haven for yachts during the hurricane season. Chaguaramas Bay, the center of the yachting industry presently has five major haulout facilities and many well established marine contractors and craftsmen. Marine parts can easily be imported in Trinidad from the US and Europe duty free by visiting yachtsmen and there are a number of well stocked marine chandleries in the immediate area. Nau-T-Kol is located at CrewsInn Marina in the Shipwright building along with other marine businesses. A covered boatyard, hotel, pool, gym, laundry, restaurants, grocery store, bank and shops are all conveniently located within CrewsInn’s compound. Provisioning is easy with large grocery stores and two Pricesmarts within a 20 minute drive. Besides being the largest yachting center in the Caribbean Trinidad has much to offer the visiting yachtsmen. Restaurants, theater, sports, beaches, shopping and music, all at affordable prices keep the cruisers returning year after year.
