Owner Jeff Stone’s marine refrigeration experience goes back to the 1970’s. He was designing and building refrigeration systems in Northern California for boats heading across the Pacific or South to Mexico.

After outfitting hundreds of boats for the cruising lifestyle, Jeff and his wife Dawn decided that it was time for them to go sailing. In 1990 they headed across the Pacific in their 39’ Nicholson ketch and spent a number of years in various cruising grounds including Hawaii, French Polynesia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and the Caribbean.

Their years of sailing in tropical climates gave Jeff a greater appreciation for the requirements for a comfortable well equipped yacht, as well as the demands the marine environment makes on  equipment.

Jeff and Dawn reestablished their marine refrigeration and air conditioning business in 1996 in Trinidad in the West Indies. Nau-T-Kol Marine Refrigeration is a year round full service  refrigeration and air conditioning business.

Nau-T-Kol represents only the finest marine companies and products and their technicians have the advantage of being trained by someone with 30 years experience in the industry.

The lack of available, affordable and well made 12/24 volt refrigeration systems prompted Jeff to design and build his own systems. considered a safe haven for yachts during the hurricane season. Chaguaramas Bay, the center of the yachting industry presently has five major haulout facilities and many well established marine contractors and craftsmen. Marine parts can easily be imported in Trinidad from the US and Europe duty free by visiting yachtsmen and there are a number of well stocked marine chandleries in the immediate area. 

Nau-T-Kol is located at CrewsInn Marina in the Shipwright building along with other marine businesses. A covered boatyard, hotel, pool, gym, laundry, restaurants, grocery store, bank and shops are all conveniently located within CrewsInn’s compound. Provisioning is easy with large grocery stores and two Pricesmarts within a 20 minute drive.

Besides being the largest yachting center in the Caribbean Trinidad has much to offer the visiting yachtsmen.  Restaurants, theater, sports, beaches, shopping and music, all at affordable prices keep the cruisers returning year after year.
